Beginning with Arctic Tour '93 - Ride for Research and
continuing on with two national relays billed as
Pony Express Tours '96 and '98, the Women's Motorcyclist Foundation
has hosted campaigns involving
riders from all of the United States and Canada.
Aboard every make of motorcycle, representing a
richly diverse cross section of individuals, a third of
the Pony Express Riders have been men; over 150
riders have been breast cancer survivors, and all are committed to
"The Road to a Cure."
Through campaigns hosted by the WMF, Inc., riders
have raised $954,805 for the Susan G. Komen
Breast Cancer Foundation. Komen allows 100% of the riders' pledged dollars to be earmarked solely and
completely to breast cancer research.
Pony Express Tour '98 - National Ride for Breast Cancer Research raised
$612,305 alone. The goal for Y2K is $1 million.
The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation is the largest organization in the world solely
dedicated to eradicating breast cancer.
